By 2025 scope of Audit Service Sierra Leone’s (AASL) performance audit has increased to include environment, digitalisation, and others consistent with global best practice.

AASL has transformed into a highly recognised, independent watchdog. Key trends include, expanded audit scope in climate change, tax, and intensive international capacity building. The prestigious Supreme Audit Institution of Africa in early 2026 recognised AASL’s impactful audit exercise with an international award, as evidence of audit progress in the country.
