Target description

Following the 2023 election, women went on to constitute 30% of elected members of Parliament, and 33% of Cabinet Ministers and 41% of Deputy Ministers. Female Mayors and Chairpersons comprise 14%.

" By 2023 women constitute only 13% of parliament: 9% of local council chairpersons and mayors and 20% of cabinet are women."

Comment on Target

Overall, progress has been shown in all the areas of the promise made, but number of women decreased due to death of a female MP who was replaced by a male.
