Target description

In 2025 pupil-to-qualified teacher ratio was 57:1 showing a 10% improvement on 2023 figures. (GoSL Annual School Census 2025 - p.37)

Target Baseline

" As at 2023, pupil teacher ratio was 63:1"

Comment on Target

We note that GoSL target is to reduce pupil teacher ratio from 63.1 to 43.1 equivalent to 46% reduction in six years. This requires an annual reduction of 7.6% to achieve the 2030 target. If the 10% current of rate of progress is maintained, it is possible to hit the 2030 target.
